Technology Committee

The Technology Committee will draws on technological expertise within the Hopewell parent community to support teachers and students in the use of computers as an educational tool and in the safe use of internet resources.

A Committee Coordinator liases with teachers to determine needs of staff and students and maintains a roster of parent volunteers who can provide technical support during computer lab classes and/or after school.

Responsibilities of the committee include:

• Assisting with hardware trouble shooting and purchasing decisions;
• Offering ad hoc tutorials to teachers and students for effective use of common software programs (word, excel, powerpoint, etc);
• Advising on safe use of internet resources;
• Supporting teachers on request.
