    Hopewell Council organizes fundraising activities throughout the school year. The money raised is spent on Council’s enrichment initiatives for the students and special projects. Below is a description of each fundraiser.

    Pizza Lunch
    Every other Friday is Pizza lunch. Order forms are sent home each term. Juice boxes and fruit roll-ups are also available as part of the pizza lunch package. This bi-weekly fundraiser is as popular with the students as it is with parents who get a break from making lunches!

    ***New Subway Lunch
    Every other Friday is Subway lunch. Order forms are sent home each term. Six inch and 12 inch subs with a choice of fillings are be available to order.

    Grocery Card Program

    The Pre-Paid Grocery Card fundraising program is completely cost free for the participant as cards can be used to pay for anything at any Loblaws and affiliated stores. Hopewell gets between 3% and 5% back from Loblaws on all grocery cards. This means:
    $5 for Hopewell each time that you purchase a $100 card
    $12.50 for Hopewell each time that you purchase a $250 card
    $25.00 for Hopewell each time that you purchase a $500 card

    Hopewell Clothing
    Hopewell clothing is ordered each year. In 2010, special Hopewell 100th Year Anniversary hoodies and t-shirts were sold. Order Form.

    Read-a-Thon
    Read-a-thon is Hopewell’s most valued literacy program and fundraiser. It is more than just a fundraiser as it promotes literacy and celebrates books. It involves, events co-ordination, communications, consultation with teachers and administration as well as outreach to beacon schools. Read-a-thon took place this year between April 28 and May 9. A one day mini literacy conference was organized for the grade 7 and 8 students with guest speakers such as authors, journalists, broadcasters, and communication and public relation practitioners. Seminars are also organized for parents on how to help improve their child’s reading skills and tips on helping kids navigate the internet.

    Ski & Skate Sale
    The Ski & Skate Sale is held annually in November . It is a wonderful service for the Old Ottawa South Community. People bring in their used winter sports equipment to the school where it is priced and sold at the sale. The school receives 25% of the sale price and the seller receives 75%. The money that the school raises from the event is donated to a breakfast program at a beacon school.

    Bike & Blade Sale
    The Bike & Blade Sale is held annually in April . It is a wonderful service for the Old Ottawa South Community. People bring in their used bikes, scooters, skate boards and roller blades to the school where it is priced and sold at the sale. The school receives 25% of the sale price and the seller receives 75%. The money that the school raises from the event is donated to a beacon school.

    QSP Magazine Subscription

    This fundraiser is now adminsitered by the Hopewell School Administration. If you have questions regarding your QSP subscritpion, contact QSP at 1-800-667-2536.

    Hopewell Family Beach Party

    Hopewell families attend a Beach Party in March with bouncy castles, face painting, fish pond, DJ music, crafts, floor games and great food! It is from 6pm to 8pm and costs $10 per family or $3 per person.
